Mike Power was a sports reporter for the Daily Gleaner. We were fortunate that he had the "school beat". Nobody covered school sports better and it's unlikely that they ever will.
We got to really know Mike when our Mike - "Mike Fitz" was fighting his cancer. Mike Power was touched by his struggle and it is truly ironic that just a year after Mike Fitz passed away, Mike Power did as well, also from cancer.
Fredericton is better off for having had these two Mikes and is somehow a lesser place without them. Mike Power really got it and we are pleased to show below the stories by his long time colleagues at the Gleaner. After reading them you will know why we wanted to share his story here.
